Celebrating the Sacraments at the Cathedral

Baptism: parents requesting the Sacrament of Baptism for their children should be registered members of the parish and they should contact us at the parish office.

First Holy Communion: the Mass for those children participating in the group First Holy Communion is normally celebrated on Divine Mercy Sunday.  Otherwise, the preparation and reception of this Sacrament for the first time is organized through the parish office.

Confirmation: in the Diocese of Jefferson City, the Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred on those individuals who have reached the age of 16 and are at least juniors in high school. The length of the formal preparation program is August through May.

Reconcilation: this Sacrament is available beginning at 4:00 pm every Saturday evening and by appointment.

Holy Orders: the Cathedral is the customary location for all ordinations in the Diocese of Jefferson City.  If you are discerning a possible vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life, please contact Fr. Joe Corel at 573-635-9127.

Anointing of the Sick: parishioners facing surgery or struggling with serious illness may request this Sacrament of healing.  Please contact one of the priests.

Matrimony: couples planning to marry at the Cathedral must contact the parish office at least six months in advance.  In order to be validly married in the Roman Catholic Church, both members desiring to unite themselves in Holy Matrimony should not have any previous marriage bonds.  Only after having spoken with one of the priests may a couple officially set the wedding date.
